Courses starting this summer & resource list update
Big news! In July, we’ll be launching two online courses. Don’t forget to request funds now if your school offers financial support for professional development! Registration for both courses will open in May, here on our website.
Course #1: Pedagogical Storytelling for Early Childhood
Building on our popular course offered last year, we’re hosting a second, extended course in which you’ll learn, practice, share, and prepare for the coming school year using DEIJ-informed and diversity-responsive pedagogy. Join us for six sessions on Zoom with experienced Waldorf Early Childhood teachers and practiced storytellers, and learn to craft tales that nourish and reflect your students. Space is limited to allow for small-group work and deep discussion. Confirmed guests at this time include: Melody Birdsong-Shubert (River Valley Waldorf School), Nancy Blanning (Denver Waldorf School and WECAN), Keelah Helwig (Waldorf School of Garden City), and Celestine Stadnick (Lakota Waldorf School).
Participants will:
Learn DEIJ-informed pedagogical storytelling theory, principles, and tools
Receive mentorship from experienced Early Childhood educators
Practice and share together in small groups, working from both case studies and personal experience
Leave with an Alma Partners Toolkit for continued practice and skill-building beyond the completion of the course
